Are You Disabled and on HUSKY D for Your Medicaid Coverage?
Are you worried about the new Work Requirements starting in January of 2027 for enrollees in HUSKY D (not for other HUSKY programs)?
We want to talk to you if you are on HUSKY D and fall within one of the five categories of “medically frail” individuals. The new federal law says people who are considered “medically frail” are supposed to be EXEMPT from the work/volunteering requirements of 80 hours/month (or attendance in an educational program at least half time).
Specifically, we would like to talk with you if you:
Are blind or disabled as found by the Social Security Administration
Have a substance abuse disorder
Have a disabling mental disorder
Have a physical, intellectual or developmental disability that significantly impairs your ability to perform one of more activities of daily living, or
Have a serious or complex medical condition.
And, in addition:
Your condition does not currently significantly impair your ability to follow the new work requirements (but it might make it harder in the future).
